Thank You Poem
Thank You Poem – Family Poems
Mummy, Thank You
Its taken me a while to write this
and believe me jeta I’ve had many tries,
but its so scary putting into words
the way you’re worshiped in my eyes.
Sometimes it scares me thinking about you
I am overwhelmed by your perfection.
You’ve had nothing but struggle thrown at you
Yet you’ve lived a life of love and affection
I know you doubt your personal success
And think you could’ve done more for me
But you’re the closest thing to an angel on earth
You’re who I aspire to grow up to be
Mummy, thank you, thank you, thank you
I need you to know I am aware
Your selfless ways are taken for granted
I’ll never be able to show you how much I care
I love you mum.

Lovely. It’s been quite a while since I posted anything but rereading old blog posts brought me back to yours. One note: presumably you mean (last verse) “*aren’t* taken for granted” – since saying they “are” would mean you don’t care, and obviously the rest of the poem says that you do! 🙂
