About Marinela Reka

I am Marinela Reka, the girl behind all the short poems and quotes on this page. I started writing poems when I was just six years old.

Poetry for me started as a way to practice my writing and spelling, however, after some time I discovered it was great therapy to write what was on my mind. Today, I hope that my short poems and quotes inspire other people with everyday life.

I must note that not all my poetry is about my life and feelings, I write about situations others may be in and world issues.

I am very grateful to my readers who always leave positive feedback on my page, this motivates me to write more short poems and quotes. Sometimes, I turn even negative feedback into something positive, after all, I know that I am not perfect and I embrace that.

Even if you do not get time to browse my page, try to read this short poem I have written in 2011 (13 years old) about forgiveness:

FORGIVENESS

An angel named Forgiveness
Traveled from mind to mind
Teaching people how to move forward
And leave the past behind
She reminded them of their regrets
Taught that perfection is rare
And humanity makes mistakes
Despite their love and care

She tried to stay strong and hold her ground
But she just was not that tough
Soon to be replaced by anger and grudges
Because sorry was no longer enough
Forgiveness was soon out of the picture
As revenge suddenly became right
But she still travels from mind to mind
Convincing them to see the light

If you want to contact me about poetry and my page, I am always happy to reply to emails as fast as I can. I truly appreciate the feedback, positive and negative, but please try to be kind because it can make a difference to my day. My email is: info@marinelareka.com omgi

    dear Marinela 🙂
i love your poems. you are a great poet. As I lay me down to sleep
I pray for you my heart to keep,
and walking down the streets of sorrow,
it is your footsteps I wish to follow,
as in the darkened skies around,
    there’s nothing there-not even a sound.
With our two hearts beating as one,
What I promise you now-and till death do us part,
is that you will always remain deep in my heart.
Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things Eliot.
    your’s keshav 🙂

Hello Marinela, I found you through a post of yours on Smile For No Reason’s Facebook page. My daughter was on her way to work so I posted a picture from 2014 of a purple shaggy haired bear with purple and white ribbons in it’s hair held by flowers and it also appeared to be holding flowers with the caption words Enjoy Your Day. She loved it!! And told me she wanted the bear. How and where can I get it? I liked your page and will be posting a lot of your quotes in the future. Very good reading…

Thank you so much! I found you by looking for quotes about Father’s Day. “Being a Daddy’s Girl is like having permanent armor for the rest of your life.” I LOVE THAT! You must be one! I am one even now 48 years after my earthly Father has passed and my armor is still strong and I don’t even have to put it on anymore – it has become part of me! May God continue to bless you with your gift!

I’ve written a book on loss, grieving and working through multiple personal losses.
I point out the value in helping others and would like to use this quote of yours. “Helping other people can be a cure not just for those who are in need,
but for your soul as well.”

Would that be agreeable? Thank you!

  20. Marinela says:

Hello David. Apologies for my late reply. Yes you are welcome to use my quote in your book.
