Short Poverty Poem – Feeling Poems

Poverty Shouldn’t Be The Cause Of Death

Why does poverty still remain

If we have been blessed with fountains
And for a drop of water, their hearts bleed
Why don’t we share our God-given gifts
And for fill their vital human needs

Some mothers know their child is safe
And their future includes education for sure
Other mothers have learned to accept
Their child will grow to be unwell and poor

No one deserves to be born to die young
And have their opportunities stripped away
Poverty shouldn’t be the cause of death
But it still happens day to day

The world’s resources are a gift
That every individual has the right to attain
If everyone should have dignity and health
Why does poverty still remain

True, you did a great job on this one marinela 🙂

Your question about why poverty still remains is loaded with reasons and excuses and cuts to the heart of our values in the human race. When so few stop to help a brother or teach a sister because we are too busy and have our own problems we have answered a bit of that. When we continue to bring little ones into an already financially failing household it is another side of this horrid fact. I don’t have the answers but your poem brings it home, Marinela.

Such a heart warming, thought provoking post. The worlds resources are indeed a gift, a gift that we all too often take for granted.

  4. wordwand says:

well done marinela; alas this is the reality some people indulge in food and clothes and all sorts of luxury while others starve to death .

  5. Pietro says:

This is a hard and dramatic problem, and in your fine poem you reflect so cleverly upon it, Marinela.

  6. This is the reality…..
