Pride Poems – Poem about Pride
Pride Poems
Don’t Take My Pride
Wipe this smile right off my face
Take my joy for a ride
But no matter what becomes of me
Please don’t take my pride
Tell me I’m not good enough
Despite how hard I tried
But when it all comes to an end
Please don’t take my pride
Gouge out my hair, tear out my limbs
Leave them hanging on the side
It will all heal eventually but
Please don’t take my pride
No matter how weak I may seem
Even if I’ve wept and cried
Leave me with one thing I own
Please don’t take my pride
It is the temple which we live in
The mask where we hide
The simple way to destroy a person
Is strip away their pride

Such thought provoking words. The lines ‘It is the temple which we live in
The mask where we hide’ really stood out for me.
“It is the temple which we live in
