Poem about fake smiles
Not every smile is secreted from the heart
They say a smile has the ability
To quickly cure the wounded
The complex capacity
To direct the lost and marooned
But what they don’t say is that
Not every smile is secreted from the heart
Some smiles are simply role play
Playing the innocent part
Some are false, some have bad intentions
Only a small majority are pure
There are even a few set out to offend
And they are the worst for sure
Next time you send out a smile
Take a moment and refrain
Would you smile cure and direct,
Or just cause more pain?

Ah, the truth behind smiles… nicely put, I like the honesty behind these lines! Lovely poem!
Thoughtful on smiles, Marinela. I never thought about those others. Always choosing to believe a smile genuine, but you are so right about the others.
Clever and right reflection upon smiles. A very fine poem, Marinela!
They say it takes more muscles to frown than to smile and a smile is not a true smile unless it reaches the eyes – thanks for yet another wonderful verse, it had me smiling.
I like the different light you’ve shed on a smile, quite thought-provoking! 🙂
