Kenning Mother Poem – Kenning Poems

A kenning poem can be a short poem or a long poem depending on what the writer prefers. The main purpose of a Kenning poem is to describe something without mentioning its name. It can be written as a riddle for the reader, or you can reveal the answer. They are very easy and fun to write, here is an example I wrote, I hope you enjoy it. Poem examples for children

Hi Marinela .. yes mothers – and the idea of Kenning … I’d never heard of it – so thanks for enlightening me! Mothers certainly do all of those things ..

We sort of did a crossword and a codeword crossword yesterday – didn’t get very far .. but Mum participated quite a lot and enjoyed the interaction – we were waiting to do an ambulance “dash” to the hospital .. all well & she got back safely .. no emergency!

    Cheers Hilary

  17. Very good. I like haiku but seldom do it. I’d rather read it sometimes.

I don’t know what you call it but I like to write short descriptive sentences that describes something almost like you just did but this is about a photo or a photograph on my blog.

You really know your mother so well, Been reading your poetry and I find them entertaining and wholesome. I can recommend this site to my daughter so she could learn poetry and I won’t worry. She’ll be reading a child-friendly site and a mind-stimulating one.

    Keep em coming.

Hey girl, sorry I haven’t visited you for a while -and thanks for the follow (I thought you did that before -anyways. better so do it twice than not:):) )
Kenning sounds better to me than haiku (smile). If I do any poetry, it’s without rhyme and without any rules, lol.
