Humorous Poems – Funny poems
A boot on her head!
There was once a young lady
Who wore a boot on her head
‘Why on earth do you do that?’
A wise man once said
She replied with such eager
‘oh I do hate the rain’
So with a boot on her head
Dry she’d remain
Then she smiled and waved
And said bye to this fella
But he called her back and asked
‘Why not an umbrella’
She giggled a little
Then said ‘to be fair
No matter how high I hold it
It gets caught on my hair’
Last but not least he shouted
‘Woman why not a hat?’
She scratched her head and said
‘I hadn’t thought of that!’

“And said bye to this fellar
But he called her back and asked
‘Why not an umbrella’”
🙂 Very cute!
Hi Marinela .. great .. I love these sort of poems .. just rattle along, but at the same time make us laugh .. fun!
Enjoy the weekend .. Hilary
Hi Marinela! You are very talented and I love your poem . I was curious and shocked to realize you are only 14 ?!
I hope you will join in Saturday Centus . I enjoy reading everyone’s stories. It’s fun.
that was silly of the best variety. and absolutely fantastic! keep writing!
Very clever!
Very witty! Thanks for this.
All the best, Boonie
Well done Marinela…it made me laugh.. I have been writing funny poetry for LOL website started by Leo.. you can visit that and sometimes try to write fun and laughter..
I enjoyed every line of it.. I thought since she had placed her boot on head..she will say , well umbrella, wouldn’t have fitted my feet..
Just what I needed, something to put a smile on my face. A boot could be the answer to the umbrella problem of it being too windy or not having a hand that is free.
Lovely… Very beautifully written! The little girl must have so innocent never to have thought about a hat:)
…very humorous my friend… cleverly composed… i totally miss all of your excellent poems… glad to be here again and again…(^^)b…
A Blessed Sunday!!!:)

Hi Marinela, Thanks a million for visiting my blog and showing me the way to yours. Your name is as sweet as you, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much you have achieved in such a young age.
This poem is very funny and I enjoyed reading it very much. Well-done!
Love, Punam
That’s clever! I like it. I can actually see the whole conversation.
How’s your week so far?
Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
I like this because it is the “silly old me” kind of humor that children adore. It would make a fun poem particularly for younger children, especially if you can tighten it up so that the sentence rythm flows. A few sentences have unnecessary extra beats; with a bit of word-chopping and sentence structure changes, you could perfect this into a skipping-rhyme rythym. There’s room for a bit more silliness too, trying on different headpieces before meeting the wise one. I can imagine singing this to my grandkids and having fun while they’re getting dressed to go outdoors, thinking up all sorts of alternatives to brollies and hats. 🙂 Nice poem!!
Lovely !, also , ur blogrolled. 🙂
Haha, I love this poem.
It actually sounds like one of those that get passed down from generations to generations. I like this kind of silliness.
The only thing that will make it even more perfect is to have the picture match the poem. 🙂
Oh my! I am laughing out loud and the dogs are looking at me like I’ve lost my mind! This was so great!!
so cute and fun. You should join Monday’s Child at http://childrensverse.blogspot.com/ because your children’s poetry is wonderful.

Clever. Thanks for the smile …
Such a cute poem and well written!
Very funny and rhythmic. I read a couple of your others, too. I really liked the one about your grandmother – so many regrets there are when someone dies but we live in the moment with little thought for after death.
hehe…quite funny it was….but got a sight of ur writing….nice piece…
Love the way this one travels. Always wonderful to hear from you!
I absolutely LOVE this!!! It’s just delightful, I’m going read it again … and again! :o)
Now this is fun! You are a child at heart… which helps when you write for kids! Silly, cool, kind of kooky, I loved this. And to tell you the truth, I needed the smile, so thanks.

I loved this funny, sweet poem, Marinela. And I loved this type of poem when I was a kid too–perfect for children!

Very intelligent write.
Cheers.
Oh, I just couldn’t resist:
“A boot on the head
Is better,” she said,
“Than wearing a hat
Or a cat.
“It keeps off the rain
And keeps me quite sane—
Not even a hat
Could do that!”
